Differences Abound: Know Your Target Market

Many dentists advertise their practice, but rarely do they think about their target market – the client or individual person they want to reach.

As you look at this simplified picture to the left showing four generations of patients, please notice the vast differences there are from one to the next. The differences clothing and communication alone are huge. Each group tips their hat to the style of communication that speaks to them most effectively. For example if your office caters to the elderly population, you would want a personal touch with a relational appointment check-in. However, an orthodontist’s practice may choose an engaging and fun atmosphere with high-tech self check-in.

Evaluate and Connect

So take a moment and evaluate if you are hitting the target when it comes to connecting with your patients.

If you keep doing what you’ve always done, you’ll keep getting what you’ve always got.

– Peter Francisco
