Seize The Golden Opportunity

Before young and newly graduating dentists consider going out on their own, it is highly recommended to work for someone first. Why? Because it’s like getting paid to learn your own speed and hone your dental skills while seeing what the business side of dentistry looks like.

Take the time to list the pros and cons of what you see and experience and how they would apply to your office, such as:

  • How the office is ran
  • How the office is set up
  • How the ops are set up and how well they function
  • Design Features – colors and finishes
  • Floor Plans
  • Being a business owner
  • How patients are treated

As well as anything else you notice in your tenure.

About a year prior to possibly going out on your own, one important question must first be answered…

Am I made for owning my own dental practice? BE HONEST! If more dentists were honest about this one question, they could save themselves a lifetime of heartache while saving lots of money at the same time.

If the answer is No…STOP, and celebrate that you understand who you are and that you enjoy working for someone else and the freedom it provides you!

If the answer is Yes…it’s time to start assembling your team and planning the dream of your future.

“Be ready, for when your time comes, you will have that window of opportunity. So seize the moment and capitalize on it.”
