Technology has added a new fear to our midst, and it’s impacting us in many profound ways. It is and will continue to impact our personal, business and family lives.
It is the fear of making a decision because there may be a better choice out there, just a click away.
Today, with things moving so fast we often find it hard to keep up. We have all experienced the frustration of investing in the latest phone, program, technology, etc, only to find in a very short time something better, more advanced, state of the art becomes available – often times for less than you paid for your now ‘outdated’ device…which makes it even worse!
Now, with technology moving even faster with so many options continuing to spring up by the minute (and literally by the second) all at our fingertips, it appears that the new or better product, device, or option is moments away.
Unfortunately, what this is creating is an increasing group of people that are becoming “frozen”, so to speak…unable to make a decision or move forward.
As business owners, our challenge will be to learn how to adapt and provide solid answers to a fearful group.
For those who have this fear, the challenge will be to learn how to overcome and understand that no decision is usually far worse and will end up in a greater loss by not moving forward. As they say, no decision is a decision. Many times, putting things off can cost relationships, missed opportunities, delays in attaining your goals, result in significant delays and cost you financially.
It is best to make a “good” decision than to wait for the “best” decision, because the day of the “best” decision may never arrive.
As a collective body, we need to continue to learn and grow, how we can aide one another and assist each to move positively forward.
“People often avoid making decisions out of fear of making a mistake. Actually, the failure to make decisions is one of life’s biggest mistakes.”
-Noah Wineberg
“The most successful people are those who are good with plan B.”
-James Yorke
